Google has announced general availability for the VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2.1 stack within Google Cloud VMware Engine. Any new private clouds will now deploy with VMware vSphere version 8.0 Update 3, NSX 4.2.1.2, and HCX 4.10.3.
This means that customers will be able to take advantage of the incremental changes made to vSphere 8.0 within their Google Cloud VMware Engine environments.

Upgrades of existing vSphere 7.x private clouds are expected to begin in June 2025. The latest service announcement has details with more information about the new VMware component versions, and what customers can expect from the upgrade process.

- Make sure to check your e-mail addresses in Essential Contacts, so that you do not miss any important communications.
- When Google notifies you of your upcoming update, you will be able to schedule maintenance windows in the Google Cloud VMware Engine Update Center.
